McCann School of Business to host criminal justice and mental health symposium
McCann School of Business and Technology, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Schuylkill County Forensic Task Force will present a public education symposium on Nov. 10, 2011 from 7– 9 p.m. in room 114 at the main building of the Pottsville campus located on 2650 Woodglen Road.
This free workshop will discuss what happens when a person with a mental illness travels through the criminal justice system. There will be panel discussions, as well as a question and answer segment. Panelists include: Detective Dolores Malec, District Attorney’s Office; Michael Stine Esq., Chief Public Defenders Office; Warden Eugene Berdanier, Schuylkill County Prison; Administrator Daniel McGrory, Schuylkill County Mental Health & Mental Retardation; NAMI representative Vivan Spiese, and FTAC President David Dinich will be moderating. All are encouraged to attend this informative session. Registration is not required.
