McCann School Graduation Requirements

In order to uphold our commitment to the highest quality of education, the McCann School of Business and Technology has stringent graduation requirements. Students who have earned their diploma or Associate's degree have to prove their proficiency in their field before graduation. To ensure this, the following graduation requirements must be met before students may receive their diplomas.

Successfully complete all courses and credits required for the diploma or degree programs prior to McCann School graduation dates.
Earn a cumulative overall grade point average of at least 2.0 and minimum grade of “C” in major and prerequisite courses.
Complete all competency and skill performance testing required for the program.
Earn the final 50 percent of the total hours of credit, including 50 percent of the total required hours in the major area of study, as matriculated students at McCann.
Complete and submit an Application for Graduation
Attend any required graduation meeting(s) and seminars prior to graduation dates for McCann School.
Attend exit interview(s) conducted by the Financial Aid Director if the student has utilized student loans
Attend exit interview with the Career Services office and submit an approved resume, cover letter, and three references together with career portfolio prior to McCann School graduation dates.
Be free of all indebtedness to the School prior to graduation dates for McCann School.
Cosmetology Program: Although McCann School of Business & Technology requires more hours than the State Board of Cosmetology to graduate from its programs, a student may be eligible to take the State Board of Cosmetology examinations once they have completed the required hours set forth by the State Board: Cosmetology – 1250 hours, Skin Care Technology – 300 hours, Nail Technology – 200 hours, and Cosmetology Instructor – 500 hours.
Once you have successfully accomplished all of these requirements, you are eligible for graduation and can begin your professional career armed with one of the best vocational educations available in Pennsylvania.
