Office Technology-Medical

An Office Technology-Medical degree from McCann School of Business & Technology provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a variety of roles in medical office settings. Students will obtain a well-rounded education that covers the clerical, medical, and technological aspects of working in a health care setting.

This program provides students with course work that emphasizes a hands-on approach with currently popular software programs. This degree program also helps graduates obtain experience with both front-office medical training and business application methods. Students will develop the important characteristics that business employers highly value in the corporate world, such as the ability to work with and collaborate with others, effective problem solving skills and crucial administrative abilities.

Our Medical Office Technology Associate Degree program prepares students with the necessary abilities and knowledge to carry out a wide array of both administrative and secretarial tasks in a medical or health related environment. Through our medical training courses, graduates will have a complete understanding of medical terminology, case histories, document formatting and medical record translating.

Our challenging curriculum offers classes in database fundamentals, document processing, spreadsheet basics, word processing, machine transcription, computer programming and basic principals of management. These courses will help them develop skills in employee and customer relations, organizational behavior, document creation and management, office management and procedures and computer maintenance.

The Associate Degree program in medical office technology is available at our campus locations in the state of Pennsylvania, which include Dickson City, Hazleton, Pottsville and Sunbury.
