McCann Hires Benishia McLean as Surgical Technology Program Director 

McCann School of Business & Technology has hired Benishia McLean as the new Surgical Technology Program Director. In this role, McLean will oversee all facets of the Surgical Technology program including student participation and classroom initiatives.

“Benishia’s experience in the operating room and innovative ideas will help the Surgical Technology program grow to its full potential,” said Howard Hiester, Campus Director for McCann School of Business & Technology. “She is teaching students the practical skills necessary to succeed and advance in their careers after graduation.”

As the new Surgical Technology Program Director, McLean plans to attract new students and expand the program. To do this, she would like to promote the program’s Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accreditation, which is highly preferred by employers. 

In addition to being the Surgical Technology Program Director, McLean teaches multiple surgical technology classes at McCann including pathophysiology, pharmacology and anesthesiology, and anatomy and physiology.McLean has hands-on experience in surgical technology. Prior to joining McCann, she worked in the operating room at Winchester Medical Center and Meritus Medical 

McLean is currently seeking her Bachelors of Science in surgical technology at Fort Hays State University in Kansas. She is also a certified Surgical Technologist and CPR certified. She currently resides in Chambersburg, Pa.
