McCann Student Awarded Women’s Empowerment Grant

Hazleton, Pa. – McCann School of Business & Technology student Grace Hnasko will receive a Women’s Empowerment Grant bestowed by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. The grant will be presented to Hnasko at the 2015 Business & Community Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 29, starting at 12 p.m.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Empowerment Grant was established to encourage women to pursue training or education that will help them start or advance a career. Hnasko is one of five women who will receive this grant at the awards ceremony, which will be held at Capriotti’s Catering, located at One Banks Ave. in McAdoo.

The Women’s Empowerment Grant will help Hnasko finish her Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from McCann.

Grant applicants were required to send the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce applications and cover letters by mid-Summer. They were scored based on academic information, employment history, civic involvement, an essay and financial need.
