McCann Students Pass EPA Certification Exam
Pottsville, PA (August 11, 2016) – Three recent graduates and two currently enrolled students at the Pottsville campus of McCann School of Business & Technology passed EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling Certifications. Robert Murphy (Mount Carmel), graduate of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program, earned Universal Certification. Walter Czerepuszko (Mahanoy City), current student in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, earned Universal Certification. Chris Cinelle (Minersville) and Aric Foster (Saint Clair), graduates of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program, earned Type I & III Certification. Brian Waizzenegger (Frackville), currently enrolled in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, earned the Type III Certification.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has required that all persons handling refrigerants should be certified. Type I Certification enables technicians to work on Small Appliances, Type II Certification enables technicians to work on Medium, High and Very-High Pressure Appliance, Type III Certification enables technicians to work on Low-Pressure Appliances and Universal Certification is granted to a technician who has successfully passed Type I, Type II and Type III Certifications.
