McCann Students Pass NHA Certification Exams
Six recent McCann School of Business & Technology - Pottsville graduates have passed their programmatic National Healthcareer Association (NHA) accreditation exams. These exams validate the skill sets learned in each individual program and are often needed or preferred by employers.
Ashley Backenstoes (Shoemakersville) and Kristy Reis (New Ringgold), graduates of the Phlebotomist program, passed the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam.
Meghan Donat (Lenhartsville), Haley Lewars (Pottsville), Marisa Matukewicz (New Ringgold), and Shianne Maurer (Turbotville), graduates of the Medical Billing and Coding program, passed the Certified Medical Billing and Coding Exam.
McCann covers the cost of the exam, encouraging all students to take their programmatic certification exams. These exams give students a competitive edge in the workforce since many employers either require or prefer candidates to be certified.
The 2015 exam results met the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) requirements, allowing McCann to maintain it’s programmatic accreditation and uphold its existing certified programs.
NHA has been offering The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) nationally accredited certifications to Allied Health professionals since 1989.
