McCann’s Career Services and Job Placement Assistance
One of the top priorities at McCann School of Business & Technology is to provide each one of our students with the best possible career placement assistance. We strive to provide an excellent educational experience that includes hands-on learning, and real-world work experience–two things employers are looking for in potential employees.
From Our Classrooms to Your New Career
The Career Assistance program helps you choose the right career path. There are several different aspects of our Career Services department:
Meet with an Admissions Representative
The first step you’ll take is talking with an Admissions Representative. You’ll have an opportunity to talk about your interests and your goals. Together, you will find the best program that fits your interests.
New Student Orientation
We hold New Student Orientations at the beginning of each quarter. The Orientations are a time when new students can get to know one another and meet faculty members. There, you’ll learn what to expect during your time at McCann and have all of your questions answered.
As you continue through your education, you will be compiling a career portfolio, collecting samples of your work and letters of recommendation. When you graduate, your career portfolio can be used to show employers what you learned and the skills you’ve gained during your time at McCann.
Most of our programs involve an externship to allow our students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in a work setting. Not only will you be able to practice the skills needed to be successful in your career, you’ll also have the opportunity to network with professionals in your field. Externships are also a good way to add valuable work experience to your resume.
McCann offers career prep workshops to help students prepare for their job search. These workshops cover everything from resume writing to practice interviews. After attending these workshops, you’ll be confident knowing that you’re fully prepared to enter and succeed in a competitive job market.
We’ve also spent considerable time cultivating relationships with local businesses and organizations. Since 1897, we’ve built our name and reputation so that our graduates can benefit from attending a school that employers trust.
The Career Assistance Program Doesn’t End at Graduation
All of these benefits don’t go away once you graduate. As McCann alumni, you’ll be able to come back at any time to take refresher courses, receive help updating your resume or practice for an upcoming interview.
