What is an Externship*?

A McCann education gives you the technical knowledge and tools to perform your job. Externships take that knowledge one step further by providing you an opportunity to put those skills you’ve learned in the classroom to practical use in a job-like setting. Professional mentors will be there to oversee and assist you as you work toward obtaining your degree.

How Do McCann Externships Work?

Should you choose a program with externship opportunities, our Career Services and Academic teams will help you find the right placement when the time comes. Using your career goals, they’ll discuss potential externship locations with you that would be the best fit to help you grow and develop as you move toward your career. Throughout the externship, you’ll be responsible for submitting weekly reports of your attendance, activities and what you have learned. Feedback will be given to you at the midpoint and upon completion of your externship.
